Leigh-Ann A. Buchanan, Esq., is the founding Executive Director of Venture Café Miami. In this role, she works to facilitate sustainable growth, increased diversity and inclusion, and greater connectivity within Miami’s innovation and startup community. Ms. Buchanan previously served as legal counsel to entrepreneurs, startups and multinational corporations in a wide variety of complex business litigation matters and commercial disputes. Leigh-Ann has been recognized as a one of South Florida’s 40 Under 40 Black Leaders (2013); National Bar Association Women Lawyers Division Rising Star Award (2013); Greater Miami-Dade Chamber of Commerce, HYPE Award finalist (2014); Daily Business Review, Rising Star (2015); American Bar Association Top 40 Young Lawyers (2016); Aspen Institute’s National Working Group on Inclusive Innovation (2016).
Robert Henderson Jr. CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™, professional, Certified Tax Coach and Best Selling Author is the Founder and President of The Henderson Financial Group, a full service Financial Planning and Investment Advisory firm based in Miami, Florida. In 1979, at the early age of 21, Henderson began his career as a Realtor and Insurance agent. He diligently worked to build a strong foundation in the Financial Services industry by obtaining numerous securities licenses and becoming a Financial Advisor. With a strong desire at heart to do more for his steady growing clientele, Robert enrolled in The College for Financial Planning in Denver, Colorado and received his CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ designation in 1985.
John Hall is Executive Director, Goldman Sachs 10,000 Small Businesses at Miami Dade College. As an entrepreneur and professional manager, Hall’s career has focused on community development and job creation, primarily through accelerating and investing in small businesses. The MDC business education program funded by Goldman Sachs has served over 225 business owners in Greater Miami, representing over 3,900 jobs and over $340 million in aggregate revenues. Hall has owned or managed six private businesses, including an angel/venture capital fund, a publicly-traded commercial bank with $180 million in Total Assets and served as Regional President of OneUnited Bank in the Liberty City neighborhood of Miami, FL. He was successful in the turn-around of three troubled companies and served on the strategic acquisitions team for successful mergers and acquisitions valued at over $300 million. Hall was inducted into the South Florida Business Hall of Fame by the Florida Council on Economic Education. He received a BA in Accounting from Howard University and an MBA from Harvard Business School.
